1. Free Trial
Your 5-day free trial is completely free. If you cancel before your trial ends you will never be charged. No action needed beyond cancelling in your account settings.
2. 72-Hour Guarantee
Not happy within 72 hours of any charge? We will refund you in full, no questions asked. This applies to both monthly and annual plans.
Simply email support@oncetonight.com within 72 hours of the charge and we will take care of it.
3. Monthly Plans
After the 72-hour guarantee period we are unable to refund the current monthly billing period. However you can cancel at any time and you will not be charged again.
Your nightly stories continue until the end of the period you have already paid for.
4. Annual Plans
Annual plans are billed as a single upfront payment covering 12 months of service. The reduced annual price represents a discount on the effective monthly rate compared to our monthly plans. Annual plans do not include any months that are free of charge — all 12 months are paid for upfront as part of the single annual payment.
We understand that paying annually is a bigger commitment and we treat it that way. After the initial 72-hour guarantee period:
Within your first 30 days
We will refund your annual payment minus one month at the pro-rated annual rate.
After 30 days
We will refund you for any unused complete months remaining on your annual plan. For example, if you paid $159 for a Family annual plan and cancel after 3 complete months, you would receive a refund of approximately $119 — representing the 9 unused months.
Pro-rated refunds are calculated as your annual price ÷ 12 × the number of complete months remaining.
5. Need a Break Instead?
Before cancelling, consider pausing your subscription. You will not be charged during your pause and your child’s entire story archive and profile will be waiting when you come back.
Annual subscribers who pause have their subscription extended by the pause duration — so you receive every month you paid for.
Pause for 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, or 3 months from your account settings.
6. Story Delivery
Every story we generate for your child is simultaneously saved to your personal story archive, accessible any time from your Once Tonight dashboard. You never have to worry about missing a story.
If a nightly story email does not arrive in your inbox, we recommend checking your spam or junk folder first. You can also visit your story archive where every story is always available to read in full. And with a single click of the resend button in your stories section you can have any story delivered back to your inbox immediately.
Once Tonight confirms delivery of every story email to the recipient mail server through our email delivery provider. We are unable to offer refunds for stories that were successfully sent and confirmed delivered but subsequently filtered, blocked, or diverted by your email provider, as this is outside our control. However your story is always waiting for you in your archive and always resendable with one click — so you never truly miss a story.
If our system failed to generate a story for your child on a given night due to a technical issue on our end, please contact support@oncetonight.com and we will investigate and make it right.
7. Billing Errors
If you are charged an incorrect amount, charged twice for the same period, or charged during an active pause, we will refund the error in full.
Please contact support@oncetonight.com with your billing details and we will get it sorted.
8. Chargebacks
We ask that you contact us at support@oncetonight.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We would much rather resolve any issue directly and quickly.
Chargebacks result in automatic account suspension while the dispute is investigated.
